Physiotherapy is a three year degree course and Chartered Physiotherapists
are regulated by their professional body - The Chartered Society
of Physiotherapy, are governed by a professional code of conduct
and covered by professional liability insurance.
Greyfriars Physiotherapy Practice was established in 1990. The practice
principal, Mrs Sally Roberts has been in private practice since
1984 and has extensive experience in the treatment of back and neck
pain, problems affecting hips, knees, ankles, shoulders and arms
and also sporting injuries. Qualifying as a Chartered Physiotherapists
from the Leeds School of Physiotherapy (now Leeds Metropolitan University)
worked in the NHS in the 1970s. In 1986 she gained a post graduate
certificate in the treatment of musculo-skeletal disorders and in
1995 gained a BSc(Hons) in Physiotherapy Studies from Leeds Metropolitan
University this is currently an original qualification to degree
status.
Other activities include being a member of the British Association
of Sports Medicine and the Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports
Medicine.
